Territory

Each of our sales associates live within a few hours of their entire account base and fully understand the buying habits of their customers. With localized service we can make certain shipments are on time and any problems our customers may encounter are handled swiftly and efficiently. Our goal is to make each of our customer's stores more profitable by providing products that retail quickly along with ongoing personal service. With over 25 years experience in the Furniture, Home Decor, Garden, Floral, Boutique, Gift and Souvenir Industries, we understand that merchants are unique in the type of products they carry. By working closely with our customers and understanding their particular needs, we can help them to make their business more profitable.

 

 

 

We represent our manufacturers in the 7 Southeastern State of the United States. These states include Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. Our company is based in Florida for a reason. Although Florida is considered a part of the southeast, there are vast differences in the demographics of this state. So different in fact, that many of the groups based in Atlanta have found it impossible to provide effective coverage in Florida. The BPI (Buying Power Index) for the southeast is 18.6987%, were the BPI for Florida is 7.6795%. This means that over 40% of the business written in the entire southeast should be coming from Florida. When you add in the high tourist trade for 6 months of the year, the BPI rises to almost 45%. The sales coverage we provide is based on the BPI of each state and the philosophy that by maintaining smaller territories we can provide better service to our customers and more sales for our manufacturers. This is why we maintain 18 full time sales people per division in the Southeast.

The manufacturers we represent all have one thing in common, they produce quality products. For that reason, we are very selective of the lines we carry. Our product categories include Furniture, Home Decor, Garden, Floral, Boutique, Gift and Souvenir. We limit the amount of lines we represent by category and division to provide our manufacturers with a concentrated sales effort on their behalf.

 

 

Our customer base consist of over 9,000 accounts covering a variety of distribution channels including; Furniture Stores, Home Decor Stores, Art Stores, Interior Decorators, Design Firms, Garden Centers, Nurseries, Florists, Hardware Stores, Department Stores, Catalog Houses, Chain Stores, Internet Stores, Nautical Stores, Boutiques, Card Shops, Drug Stores, General Gift Stores, Hospital Gift Shops, Hotel Gift Shops, Marinas, Museum Stores, Theme Parks and Souvenir Stores.

Careful Planning

Managing your company's sales growth in our territory is our prime objective. Each of our sales associates is required to submit weekly sales reports and these reports are reviewed during their weekly call in sessions. During these phone meetings we discuss; hot products, special programs, and each sales associate progress attaining pre-established sales goals set for each manufacturer. Call in sessions are held over the weekend so, if you need to receive any immediate feedback please contact our office by Friday.

 

Advance planning and careful execution of those plans enable Ron Leonard and Associates, Inc. to operate more effectively. We practice time management, goal setting, financial planning and territory planning. In addition, we meet frequently with manufacturers to set joint sales goals and formulate specific steps to reach those goals. We encourage long-term relationships with all of our manufactures to achieve maximum sales results.

Ron Leonard & Associates, Inc. puts a high premium on experience: realizing knowledge and competence come with years of learning. For this reason we are committed to employ only full time, experienced sales associates. We presently have over 20 full time sales associates on our staff.

 

Ron Leonard & Associates, Inc. sales associates have varied back grounds and creativity to solve problems and communicate clearly to maintain the highest standards of professionalism.

Personal Relationships

By studying buying trends, competition and customer evaluations, our sales professionals are better equipped to communicate with our factories. We fully understand the importance of product training and how it effect's the outcome of a sale. We encourage our manufacturers to work with our sales associates to ensure they are properly trained and have a thorough understanding of their products and programs. We recommend that our manufacturers teach us, the specific benefits their products represent to both our accounts and their consumers. We expect all of our associates to fully understand how to overcome the objections that may restrict them from making a sale. We believe, if we can overcome our customer's objections, we can close above 90% of our sales presentations.

 

We are proud of our sales organization and also of the manufacturers we represent. We strive to work with manufacturers who value strong personal relationships and appreciate a dedicated work ethic. We view ourselves as direct factory representatives to provide an atmosphere of belonging to our sales associates. Prestige and respect are important to us and we continue to maintain our reputation through hard work and effective planning.
